Discussions: instant messaging
Discussions’ are Whaller's instant messaging functionality, equivalent to a chat.
Discussions can take place between two people or in groups.
Discussions’ are cross-platform and are not dependent on organisations or spheres. However, users can only start a conversation with people with whom they share at least one organisation or sphere in common.
Discussions are private: only the people involved in the discussion can see the messages.
Discussions’ offer a simple and instantaneous method of exchange, but are not intended to include all the functions available in the spheres (polls, reply to, etc.) and will remain simple.
All discussions can be accessed from the left-hand sidebar, at the top, via the 💬 icon.
To create or join a discussion, simply click on a person's profile, then select ‘chat’.
How to create a discussion?
From your left-hand sidebar, click on the ‘Discussions 💬’ icon located above your organisations. The sidebar will then unfold and allow you to create a discussion as you can see below.
When creating a discussion, enter the username or name of the people you wish to add to the discussion, then click on ‘Create’:
By clicking on the yellow star, bookmark your discussions and they will appear at the top of the list.

You might as well just click on the user's profile from the members directory:

To read your discussions, an unfolded mode is available by clicking on the double arrow at the top right of the discussion window:
